Phone Search

My trusty Motorola v551 (which I got before they were everywhere) is getting old. It still works great – even the original battery (almost 2 yrs old) still holds a charge well enough. But the phone market moves so fast, a 2 year upgrade cycle is excruciatingly slow. My scheduled Cingular upgrade (when they say I’m eligible for the reduced upgrade price) is in September, but since I’m willing to tack another 2 years on my contract, I think they might let me upgrade early.
So here’s my short list:
- Motorola RAZR – basically the same phone I have feature-wise. They’re everywhere, but it’s a relatively cheap status-quo phone.
- Motorola SLVR – iTunes? Might be nice, but it’s not the biggest feature I’m looking for. It looks like a solid phone, but is it worth $200?
- Cingular 8125 – Never had much luck with PDAs, but it’d probably be different having to carry it as my phone. It’s one of the few PDA phones in the world that has wifi. It may be windows, but waiting for a wifi linux phone may be a bit futile. And Mark seems to like it.
