I decided to re-google my name and see what comes up these days. I found a few interesting Jerry Knight’s out there. While my site is not anywhere near the top of the search results, my 43things.com page is on the first page of results. (Update: It fell to the second page.) Figure that one out… I put the more interesting people borrowing my name ;-) on my About page. I find it interesting that my domain isn’t among the top results, seeing as how my name is the domain. I guess Google doesn’t think I have any search-worthy content.

Put a Meta tag in for keywords, add “Jerry Knight” (with a space”) to the keyword list. This will eventually get your sight higher in the Jerry Knight google search.

There’s no one magic thing that Google looks at. Since my Google rank is not a huge deal to me, I have exerted no effort in trying to make my site look good to Google or any other search engine.

Okay, but if you Google JerryKnight (no space) you get the 1st 2 results!

That’s been the case for a while (since I’ve had the site probably) – Just shows how complex Google’s algorithms are.
